Looks like its going to be the warmest parade day on record! So while we would love to see a sprinkle of snowy dust on Santa’s float, those who are participating will be relieved! Perhaps all the hot chocolate vendors out there should be serving up lemonade??
The Elora Lions have been working tirelessly this week getting our Trophy for Best Float finalized (its stunning!!! thanks to Bear Epp at Jr. Arts Collective on Metcalfe- check her out, her window and shop are amazing, note the moving owls?!) We have judges for both Best Business Float and Best Not-for-Profit float, so get ur engines running folks and put on your best, most creative light show to win the coveted award.
The Trophy will be like the Stanley Cup where you will have the privilege of keeping it for the year, then you will have to give it up to go to next years winner. For the Not For Profit Winner, Lions will be writing a cheque to your group (amount TBA).
Next post will have some photos. See you tonite, Saturday November 26th at 6pm on Metcalfe/ Geddes and finishing up at Bissell Park.

After much discussion, we are posting the registration kit for your download convenience.
Please read the entire package first to get yourself familiar with this years expectations of all participants.
All floats must be pre-registered whether you are a not-for-profit or a business.
This years theme is LIGHT UP THE NIGHT for the Saturday November 26th 6pm occaision.
This means, OUT-DO YOURSELVES in the lighting department. This year we are going to be judging the floats with a trophy-like prize for the winners. Of course the winners will be published (Best Business Float, Best Not-For-Profit Float) giving your team extra media exposure.
Elora Lions goal is make the parade better each and every year (this does not translate to longer, just juicier!) and eventually we will have to cap participants so that the parade doesn’t last all night long.
We are so looking forward to seeing what you all come up with this year, so please, don’t delay in sending in your full applications back to us.
Cheers!
